Sylvie is originally from Quebec and is co-owner of Cream of the Crop Childcare with over 40 years experience working with children. She is a mature, nurturing teacher who is passionate about quality childcare and education. She has worked mainly with children 3-5yrs and school-aged as well as children with developmental special needs. She is known for her creative, engaging circle times, for being a calming influence around the children and being extremely patient. She is a mother herself and grandmother to three grand-kids and a grand-dog. Sylvie is bilingual, loves anything outdoors including skiing and camping, and also loves animals and reading. She is excited to bring top-notch education to the children of Cream of the Crop Childcare.
Carissa has been working in childcare for the last 11 years with children aged 2-12. She has worked at preschool for 7 years as well as teaching the after school care program.She has been teaching at daycare for the last 4 years as well as managed 2 centers during that time. She has her Early Childhood Educators Assistant’s licence. Carissa’s passion and love for children shows in her work. She enjoys the challenge that each child brings, but she always keep the child’s abilities and interest in mind. She is also a mother and wife and loves spending time with her family, camping, hiking, swimming, traveling ,riding on the motorcycle and walking her dog. She is so excited to join the team at Cream of the Crop by bringing her years of experience, eagerness to continue learning and growing with the children in this program. She is so excited to get to know all our families.
Ms. Amandeep is originally from Punjab (India). She has been working in childcare for 4 years with children aged 3-5 and has also been in childcare management. Additionally she worked at pre-school support worker for one year. As a licensed Early Childhood Educator, her goal is to promote and support the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child. She also believes that play is the base of learning since children learn best by doing. Ms. Amandeep is a wife and mother of two children. She enjoys spending time with family, nature walk, reading and traveling. She is excited to share her knowledge and experience with Cream of the Crop families!
Ms. Ella has worked and studied in the education field for 25years. With a B.A and M.A. in Early Childhood Education, she has taught in kindergarten classrooms, daycares and elementary schools working with children aged 0-12years. Ms. Ella has even worked as a textbook writer! She was raised in a blessed family and she admires her own parents who are her best friends and supporters. She is a wife and mother of two children and loves spending time with her family. Ms. Ella is a passionate learner and believes she can learn from her colleagues, work places, children and families. She enjoys helping children and their families and always keeps in mind the words given to her from the principal at her first job: “Bloom where you are planted”.
Ms. Jocelyn is the centre’s afterschool teacher.
Jocelyn has been in child care for 4 years. After completing her Responsible Adult course, she participated in many workshops through the Child Care Resource Center in Langley in order to sharpen her skills to best support the children she serves. Jocelyn has a passion for creating a fun, loving, safe, and engaging environment for kids to feel at home and free to be themselves. She loves the outdoors and uses nature as a place for learning through self-directed play. Her creative flare supports children’s ideas so that they feel encouraged to be creative self thinkers and problem solvers.
She is definitely not afraid to get her hands dirty and join in the fun! In her spare time Jocelyn uses her creativity to create fun, crocheted toys and she loves the challenges of vegan baking.
Jennifer is co-owner of Cream of the Crop Childcare with over 10 years working with children and 8 years as a leader in Management. With a diploma in Performing Arts and a Bachelor Degree in music, Jennifer is the centre’s dedicated music teacher. She has taught music and movement to children aged 3-5yrs in pre-schools as well as private music lessons and looks forward to making music with the children here at the centre. She loves reading, writing, painting and has sung professionally across the world. A mother to two young children herself, Jennifer is proud to offer care and education that prepare children for a life long love of learning while providing parents peace of mind that their child is safe and having fun. She holds her Early Childhood Educators Assistant’s licence and excelled in Guiding and Caring Behaviour.
