Ms. Amandeep

Centre Manager, Licensed Early Childhood Educator

Ms. Aman has been the centre’s manager since 2020. She is originally from Punjab (India) abd has been working in childcare for 6 years with children aged 3-5 and afterschool children to age 12. Additionally she worked at pre-school as a support worker for one year.

As a licensed Early Childhood Educator, her goal is to promote and support the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child. She also believes that play is the base of learning since children learn best by doing. Ms. Aman’s strengths are her patience and gentle, loving guidance to children.

Ms. Amandeep is a wife and mother of two children. She enjoys spending time with family, nature walks, reading and traveling. She is excited to share her knowledge and experience with Cream of the Crop families!

Ms. Chelvi

Supervisor, Licensed Early Childhood Educator

Ms. Kalaichelvi Alagendra (Ms. Chelvi) is the centre’s Supervisor and has over 20 years’ experience in early childhood education. She completed her degree in education, majoring in Early Years at Hertfordshire University in the UK and holds her Canadian ECE license.

Having worked with children of all ages, she aims to foster their physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth and in particular has a strong passion for literacy. Ms. Chelvi is skilled in teaching developmentally appropriate, enriching, inclusive and interactive programs with the goal of supporting and satisfying children’s curiosity in a play-based environment.

Ms. Chelvi is excited to join Cream of the Crop to experience a quality play based ,Canadian experiential learning method which delivers a holistic approach to the EQ and IQ development of children.

A nature lover at heart, meditation ,yoga and music takes up most part of Ms Chelvi’s spare time.

Ms. Sukhwinder

Preschool Teacher, Licensed Early Childhood Educator

Sukhi has been teaching in the Early Childhood Education field for the past 6 years. Her main focus has been in preschool and in creating excellent curriculum for children. Additionally, she has enjoyed assisting with children who have needed extra guidance and support. She is the centre’s preschool teacher and has been with Cream of the Crop Childcare for one year.

She is a patient, caring and extroverted person who enjoys engaging in conversations with her peers and children to help them reach any goals they have set. With her flair for creativity and detail, Ms. Sukhi puts together wonderful activities and crafts for the children.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, exploring the outdoors and listening to music alongside her husband and her two sons. She is extremely elated to be a part of Cream of the Crop Childcare.

Ms. Andressa

Licensed Early Childhood Educator Assistant

Ms. Andressa is originally from Brazil, where she majored in Psychology and worked as a Human Resource professional for 11 years. She is also a certified ECEA by the AMI – Association Montessori Internationale in Canada. With a background in people-oriented roles, she has a great focus in communication and conflict resolution. She has learned to be an attentive listener, while also being very patient and calm. This skill set is very helpful while working with children and helps to better understand their behavioural development.

She admires the power of children’s imagination and the fantastic stories that they are capable of creating. She believes that this is one of their main tools to express their emotions and needs. Focusing on keeping an extremely loving and positive attitude, she is always ready to engage with children in a positive and constructive way.

In her spare time, she really enjoys spending time with her husband and son playing board games, watching movies at home and traveling when possible.


Ms. Maddy

School-Age Programme Coordinator,
Licensed Early Childhood Educator Assistant

Maddy is currently studying Child and Youth Care at the University of the Fraser Valley and has her Early Childhood Education Assistant’s license. She has worked with children for five years and is back at Cream of the Crop after having taken some time off for practicums. She was recently a mentor herself after having been mentored through the HSCEP programme by Big Brothers & Big Sisters and UFV.

In addition to working with Cream of the Crop, she has previously worked at the Chilliwack YMCA and also as a volunteer in elementary schools for two years. Her long-term goal is to be a Child and Youth Care Practitioner in elementary schools. She believes that children learn best through play and her main goal at the centre is to see the children smile.

Ms. Maddy has a growing interest in working with children who have special needs and is comfortable working with all ages. She is excited to continue to bring youthful perspective to the centre to better connect with the children and build strong relationships.

Ms. Sheralyn

Responsible Adult, Administrative Assistant

Sheralyn loves working with kids of all ages and abilities, she believes every child is special and unique in their own way.

This year, Ms. Sheralyn will be starting schooling for her ECEA license as she pursues a long term career in childcare. She is very patient, loving, loves planning activities and enjoys teaching science to the kids. Ms Sheralyn loves to bring fun into learning and works very closely with the 3-5yr children as well as helps out with the after school program. She’s was our lead camp counselor for summer camp in 2022.

Outside of being a teacher, Ms. Sheralyn is a mother to a little girl, enjoys cooking, dancing, road trips, and camping. She’s very honoured to be part of the Cream of the Crop Center and is eager to get to know all the kids and their family’s.


Our Directors

Ms. Jennifer

Co-Owner, Director

Jennifer is co-owner and Director of Cream of the Crop Childcare with over 12 years working with children and 10 years as a leader in Management. She holds a degree and a diploma in music and has taught music and movement in preschools.  Throughout her career she has been recognized as a leader and has been a recipient of several awards. Most recently, the centre won “New Business of the Year” in 2019, “Chilliwack’s Favourite Childcare” in 2020 and Jennifer was nominated for “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce.

Jennifer holds her Early Childhood Educators Assistant’s license and excelled in Guiding and Caring Behaviour.  She loves animals, reading, writing, painting and has sung professionally as a soloist and in choirs across the world. A mother to two young children herself, Jennifer is proud to offer care and education that prepare children for a lifelong love of learning while providing parents peace of mind that their child is safe and having fun.

Ms. Sylvie


Sylvie is originally from Quebec and is co-owner of Cream of the Crop Childcare with over 40 years experience working with children. She is a mature, nurturing teacher who is passionate about quality childcare and education.

She has worked mainly with children 3-5yrs and school-aged as well as children with developmental special needs. She is known for her creative, engaging circle times, and implementing individual learning opportunities.

Ms. Sylvie is responsible for crafting the curriculum and programming at Cream of the Crop. She is a mother herself and grandmother to three grand-kids and a grand-dog. Sylvie is bilingual, loves anything outdoors including skiing and camping, and also loves animals and reading. Recently having relocated to Penticton, Ms. Sylvie travels to the centre throughout the month to support her team and check in on the educational programming. She is excited to bring top-notch education to the children of Cream of the Crop Childcare.
